Spring preparation in Cholmondeley Castle Gardens involves the planting of 1,800 Buxus along Lavinia Walk and 1,000 perennials across all sections of the gardens.
February is a great time for the final Spring push so prune Clematis due to flower in May and June ready for the side shoots and new growth. Sort your seeds into separate months of planting to keep organised and cut back vigorously on ornamental vines, you can cut back hard at this time of year.
The 10,000 bulbs of all varieties we planted in Autumn are beginning to emerge and with the recent warm weather we are looking forward to a very colourful Spring.
