On this day you have the option to join our Head Gardener, Barry Grain, on a specialist tour of both the old, and the new, Cholmondeley Rose Gardens.
Learn how the old Rose Garden was completed in the late 1950’s with local sandstone and how the new Four Seasons Rose Garden, completed this year, has taken shape. With 800 new plantings and standout varieties including; Desdamona, Gertrude Jekyll, Darcey Bussell, Queen of Sweden, Olivia Rose Austin, and Anne Boleyn.
The tour lasts 90 minutes and includes the history and seasonal highlights of the Gardens and grounds.
Tickets include access to the Gardens and the grounds, the tour, plus a drink of your choice and a freshly baked cake from the Tea Rooms.
Discover the romantic Temple and Folly Water Gardens, Glade, Arboretum, double herbaceous bordered Lavinia Walk, ornamental woodland upon Tower Hill and the new Cholmondeley Rose Garden. Aside from the formal Gardens, enjoy the circular lakeside walk (wellies may be needed) around Deer Park Mere.
